How you open and join it

Sets the handle style and the drawer-box joinery. You can change either below at any time.

Gola is a handleless channel: the door and drawer fronts are cut a little shorter so your fingers reach the pull. Where the cut happens depends on the cabinet: base and tall cabinets lose 73 mm at the TOP of the face (the C profile tucks under the counter); upper cabinets lose only 20 mm at the BOTTOM (the slim wall profile you reach up into). The drawing and the cut list handle both for you.

Saved construction methods

A construction method is a named set of build rules you keep in your shop account and point any project at. Start a new one from the factory settings, copy one you already have, or save the project you have open. Applying a method changes what the saw cuts and asks you to confirm.

Saved connections

A connection is a named way of joining the case corners, kept on your shop account. A construction method points at one instead of restating it, so changing a connection changes every method that uses it. Naming a connection changes no cut on its own: a method has to point at it first.

Saved front styles

A front style is a named door and drawer-front construction - slab, shaker, raised panel, five-piece or glass, with its frame sizes - kept on your shop account. Point a job at one and every cabinet that has not picked its own style follows it, including cabinets added later. A cabinet's own pick always wins.

Reset construction defaults

Set every construction default in this project back to a known starting point. Existing cabinets keep their own explicit overrides.

The room

How tall the room is, floor to ceiling. Every wall runs to the ceiling unless you give that wall its own height in the wall inspector, so a half wall, or a wall that stops under a soffit (the boxed-in ceiling drop above upper cabinets), is just a wall with its own number.

Default cabinet elevation for uppers

How high the bottom of wall (upper) cabinets hangs above the floor in this project. Leave blank for the shop standard. Raise or lower a single cabinet in its Attributes panel to clear a hood or window.

Materials in this project
