Shop Details

The facts about your shop that every project and every quote starts from: the name and contact details that print on your drawings and quotes, the numbers that turn a design into a price, how high your wall cabinets hang, and how much countertop you keep around a cutout. Set them once here. How you build - thicknesses, reveals, joinery - is set in the Designer's construction editor and kept in your method libraries.

Pricing defaults

The four numbers that turn a design's material cost into a price. Every project starts from these, and can override any of them for itself. Set once here, and the Designer's cost estimate uses them.

Labor rate

$/ hour

Saved now; applied to the estimate once time tracking lands. Leave blank if you do not bill by the hour.

Material markup

Added on top of your material cost.

Overhead

A percent of the running cost, or a flat dollar amount on every job.

Job minimum

The lowest price you will quote for any job. Starts at $100; change or clear it anytime, and a cleared minimum stays cleared.

Cabinet defaults

Where new cabinets start. A project, or a single cabinet, can change this for itself.

Default cabinet elevation for uppers How high the bottom of wall (upper) cabinets hangs above the floor, for every new project. The industry standard is 54 in (1372 mm) - it leaves an 18 in gap above a 36 in counter. A single project, or a single cabinet, can override this.

Countertops

How much countertop your shop keeps around a cutout. The Designer uses it to work out whether a sink or a cooktop fits the cabinet under it. This one is the same on every project.

Countertop kept around a sink or cooktop cutout The strip of countertop left on every side of the hole cut for a sink or a cooktop. It is what the top sits on, and a thinner strip cracks at the corners of the hole. Leave this blank and every design uses the trade minimum, 1 1/2 in. Set it higher if your shop wants more; it cannot go lower. Apron front (farmhouse) sinks are not measured this way at all, so this number does not touch them.
